Description
Stripping Wool 2 metre
Coopers steel wool is a key item in the Coopers Stripping System. You use this with the Stripper and Flusher to gently scrub the wood and loosen the last remaining paint or varnish residuals. What makes this wool so good is it is long grained and sharp. It won’t fall to bits in your hands and it has plenty of sharpness to make the job easier.
This wool has a coarseness grade #2. If you have used Cooper’s before then this wool replaces both the earlier Stripping Grade #3 and Flushing Grade #1. You now only need one grade wool to do both jobs.
Usage
When used in conjunction with the Grit Embedded Stripping pads normal usage is 1 metre of steel wool per litre of Coopers Striper. The Coopers Stripping Packs normally have the right amount included.
Outdoor Projects
We suggest you use steel wool for indoor projects only. Avoid use on outdoor projects unless you are coating and sealing the woodwork immediately with a paint or polyurethane. Don’t use inside boats either. In outdoor and marine environments tiny steel filaments may remain in the wood and when exposed to weather may rust if not sealed. In those special cases use brass brushes or plastic scouring pads shown below in place of wool.
Safety
Please note the wool is nice and sharp. You will need thick gloves.
